SpadeIDE

Free where it costs us nothing

On your own network there is no server in the middle, so there is nothing to charge for. Remote access is the paid part, because it is the only part we run.

App Store — releasing soon

Why remote access is the paid line. Everything else runs on hardware you already own — we pay for nothing. Reaching your machine from outside needs an introducer, and sometimes a relay, and those are ours to run. Charging for the part that costs something and giving away the part that does not seemed more honest than picking a feature to hold hostage.
You can opt out of our infrastructure entirely. The rendezvous is a single binary you may host yourself — the subscription pays for the client and its development, not for bytes. Self-hosting guide →

Questions

Is the free tier a trial?

No. It does not expire. One paired host on your own network, with every feature, for as long as you like.

What happens if I stop paying?

You drop back to the free tier. Your projects, pairings and settings stay; remote access stops. Nothing is deleted and nothing is held hostage.

Do I need a subscription to self-host the rendezvous?

Yes — the subscription covers the app, not our servers. Self-hosting is there for people who would rather not route through anyone else's infrastructure.

Is there a team plan?

Not yet. If you need central device management, policy or invoicing, get in touch and tell us what you actually need.
